Only pic I have handy from when I did the mock up to make sure it'd work. The track is a 3/4" round stock that sit above the concrete slab, the casters are v groove swivels that ride on the steel track

Looks great, but what happens if you get dirt on the rod?
it would have to be a 1/2" or larger rock or something similar right up against the track to stop the wheels from rolling. Blowing it off with a cordless leaf blower while I was constructing it worked fine for clearing it off . The track is round and above the concrete slab so it's not likely to collect obstacles , especially if it's closed.
I still need to grade the surrounding area to be slightly below the concrete slab and then pour a wider concrete apron on both sides of the drive thru gate opening to minimize rocks getting tracked onto the slab by wheels driving over it.

But by nature I play devils advocate… please I’m not trying to offend.
But besides corners what uses would apply?
Cost and build would be HIGH and therefore what would drive someone to eat those costs to have this?
The only application is narrow lots or up against corners in my case. I built it so I wouldnt have to move vehicles/trailers out of the way to open a swing gate, and still have 15+' of opening to drive a trailer through.
Its certainly not cheap.

That's impressive! Is it going to be powered in the future?

That is the plan, due to the corner, it'll need to be a rack and pinion driven opener, not a chain. It'll take some work to get the rack to work around the corner, but it's been done before, plenty of videos on youtube of powered "around the corner gates"

It looks like a chain style opener would work to me? Its basically a garage door on its side, right?
