Out of curiousity if your wall had been complete, would that have fulfilled the fence requirement? Fence is meant to keep random kids out or is it all kids and will you have to have one up when kids are at the house?

yes, once complete the wall will meet code. You have to have a fence or wall, 5ft tall or taller, with no holes larger than 1 3/4" (which rules out standard chain link fence), also must have a self closing gate, that only opens outward and has a latch handle that is 54" above grade.

Once the wall is done I need to build a custom gate, already have the chain link one figure out.....I should post that in the DIY section....

Actually, that has nothing to do with AZ specifically. Chain Link as a pool barrier hasn't been allowed for decades. Solid wall, or vertical wrought iron is what is typically used now. For a few years, they had it more restrictive and it couldn't be a "scalable" wall. They relaxed it back down to "climbable".

its just like gun control or crime control....they focus on the wrong thing....instead of making new laws they need to teach kids to swim and stay the fuck out of other people's pools....

I found another leaking pipe.....this one is for the sprinkler system, the reason it was leaking is due to the valve leaking at the manifold in the pump house, so I cut it at the T and added a 90 and short piece of pipe, capped off, we will later rerun this line under the wall so we can install a new sprinkler or two for the back yard

Image

The backfilling of the shallow end begins, they need to force the gravel under the steps

Image

Also after running the wires for the LED lights they filled the ditch

Image

and poured a pad for the pump, filter and other associated equipment to sit on

Our friends drove a load of their stuff down (they are moving here as well and bought the property behind us) so we didn't get much done.

I was able to get a ditch dug for the new water line to the house. What does this have to do with the pool? I am installing a new salt free water softner/filter system in the pool house and will be feeding the main house with this filtered water.

Image

I also ran some 3/4" PVC for a drain line for our new A/C unit, it drips water into our car port, so I routed it into the grass

Image

The pool guys will be back tomorrow to finish the back fill and begin the installation of the equipment
