We now have 1.2 acres of slightly sloped land, fairly rough, with a septic mound. Several trees, some obstacles.
What riding mower under $3500?

Seriously get a half a dozen of these mofos and you’ll never have to mow again. Attachment: DE760B11-A9B3-402D-81FF-74805BE5556B.jpeg

Get a good self-propelled mower. Attach beer holder. Stop for another beer or a nap when tired. Your retired, enjoy your mowing time away from your wife and honey do's

In for the mower info. Id be interested in goats, but I don't have fence around my 5 acres. And the coyotes and bobcats would eat them all.

For that area and the hills/bumps get something with a good transmission. Most every big box store mower has the same TuffTorq k46 tranny that is not serviceable and will fail before the rest of the mower goes. They are for flat, light residential use. If you have any hills or want to pull a garden cart/dethatcher/aerator, etc. get something with a serviceable transmission. I went through all this last year, did a ton of research and ended up with a lightly used John Deer x570. Other than the transmission, just pick your favorite color.

Go with the John Deere, The Whatcom County favorite. Won't have to go far for a dealer...Lynden maybe?

Love zero turns.. Hopefully your little slope doesn't get too slippery in the wet. All that weight on the back (including your ass), make them a little squirrely on even the smallest hill.

Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk A Llama will take care of that problem. They can be real assholes, but that's why coyotes don't f with them. No training required. Individually, a Llama will integrate into your herd of whatever...be it goats or sheep, and they will protect the herd instinctively. $200-800 investment.
