Anyone run any of the Kirkland synthetic motor oil? I see that they have it on sale for $22 for two 5 quart bottles which seems like a pretty good deal. I have been running Mobil 1 synthetic for quite some time now and I'm pretty sure I paid more than that for one 5 quart. The toyota takes ~5.5 quarts --- so that means I always have to buy an extra over priced quart for each oil change. Getty two five quarts would be a better deal and leave me with oil to change out the mower and jenny too.
Any thoughts?

Haven't tried the Kirkland but have been impressed with the Amazon Basics full synthetic.

Bought it a while ago, but I still have a couple cases of Mobil 1 to go. We don't drive much these days...
Peace, Michael J.

It’s been working on my vehicle. You also might find this interesting. Very in depth and detailed testing of it: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=l9il_piyuT8

Thanks for the info.... think I'm gonna do it. Seems silly NOT to at this point. I just don't understand how it can be that cheap.... you can't even get good conventional oil at that price.

Project Farm is great.
Reason why prices are cheap is the explosion in shale and tar sands oil. All synthetic are hydrocarbons and most come from natural gas, shale or tar sands and are processed so they are "synthetic" and these processes are much cheaper than they used to be. Regular dino oil is pretty much on par with all the processing and sometimes better. The analysis by project farm shows what agents are dissolved and does a great job explaining.
Once upon a time, Oil was refined by pressure through clays. That oil was full of crap and why the oil change period has expanded.
I worked in downstream oil for a while. You learn things such as a refinery makes all the same gasoline brands, and then they add their proprietary blend.

Thats the best explanation I've heard yet for how it can be so cheap! I'll buy that one.

Good question. I saw that at Costco the other day and wondered if I should try it. What I really need is Costco brand Diesel oil for my tractor. I seem to drive it more than I do my cars.

Best deal around is DELO400 at wallmart for $27-29 for the 2.5gallon jug. Or make Orelilys beat that price.

I just wish they made 10W-40
Seems like it's getting harder and harder to find

Seems like it's getting harder and harder to find Sheesh...what would you want that sludge for? My wifes car runs 0W-20. The only car I have that might not choke on 10W-40 is the 64 1/2 Mustang.

The tractor and the boat both run diesel oil so Walmart has been where it's at.
