The two WiFi routers are Linksys EA6700
One for WiFi in the house, one in the shop. I can't really put those in the SMC since it's a metal box. I'd also need something to split the internet between the TV and the Xbox

I think I misunderstood earlier. If there's a single line running from the router you posted in your picture to the room with the xbox and TV in it then you'd want a new router and a switch. I would set up the router where your existing d-link device is and then the switch in the room with the tv and xbox. I'd go with the Ubiquiti gear that Massive recommended earlier.

Just because the Edgerouter-X has gigabit ports doesn't mean it can run at gigabit speed. It tops out around 350mb/s routing performance, so you're leaving bandwidth on the table if you pay for a higher speed than that.
Basic terminology:
Hubs: Data from any port gets sent to all other ports on the hub. They aren't really made any more since they're pretty dumb devices.
Switches: Move data between devices on the same network. "Dumb" (no configuration) switches have basically replaced hubs.
Routers: Move data between networks. In this case, from your home network to the ISP's network.
Most consumer/home routers have switches built in to them so configuration can be handled all at once.

Ubiquiti also makes some access points that are meant to be mounted in your wall that have a switch built in to them. I currently have one and I'm planning on getting another as soon as I can get the purchase approved.

I only have one 5E network wire run to each location
I'd need to split that for the entertainment stuff. Right now it's just the TV and Xbox. I think the bluray player has a network connection too but we don't need that

Its cheap to upgrade to gigabit, but is your modem actually going over 100 mbps? I see its hardware capable of muxing over 300 mbps, but sometimes distances (and usually the damn cable company) limit this. Just my 2 cents.

Well,
I went with the Ubiquiti EdgeRouter X that was recommended and have been trying all morning to get it to work
Everything seemed to be going smoothly until I updated the firmware. It showed and error message and now it's pretty much bricked. It won't respond and I can't get it to reset

Finally recovered the firmware through TFTP
That sucked
At least the firmware it recovered to is newer than what was on there. I'm a bit nervous to try updating it to the newest version after the last go round

No, not yet. I had other things to do, couldn't spend all day on it
I did update the firmware to the next newer version. It originally came with 1.10.7, recovering it installed 1.10.10, then I updated to 1.10.11
The newest is 2.0.9 but that's what locked it up. Not sure if going from 1.10.7 to 2.0.9 was too big of a jump or if the newest firmware is a problem
I also need to look at the other two routers. Everything is working but I haven't updated the firmware on those since I got them
