From my old days building, repairing and tuning 1911's, most folks who do a "throat" job do NOT realize that there is a slight clearance built from the edge of the feed ramp to the lower barrel lip.
Plus, most of the feeding problems I've seen with the 1911 pistol can (hopefully) be cured with a good magazine and ammunition loaded to the proper OAL--which is why I set my seater stem to the length of a loaded round of 230 grain FMJ ball ammunition.
1.250 seems to be a good oal for 230gr fmj, runs in everything.
