For 2018 I am offering five custom Colt 70 Series Government Model 1911 pistols in 45 ACP. These pistols will be based on the Colt model O1970A1CS.
Customization will include the following parts fitted and installed with final finish options:

Kart barrel
EGW bushing and spring plug
Wilson barrel link
Wilson beavertail grip safety
Ed Brown thumb safety
Ed Brown slide release
Harrison Custom ignition set
Harrison Custom strut and pin
Harrison Custom mag catch and lock
Wilson ejector
Challis grip screw o-rings
Wilson ultralight match trigger
Wolff spring pack
Harrison Custom Sear spring
Stan Chen Maxbevel mainspring housing 30 lpi
Novak’s sights

Kart barrels and EGW bushings will be fit to the slide. Barrel lugs will be cut and barrel link selected. Slides will be flat-topped and feature lowered and flared ejection ports with a live round extraction cut, dovetails will be cut for Novak’s sights. The slide catch will be fitted and cut to aid in reassembly and to prevent idiot marks from occurring in the future. Slides that are deemed loose will be tightened to the frame. Beavertail grip safety will be fitted and blended to the frame as well as contoured by hand. Ejector will be blended to the slide and frame. Mainspring housing will be blended to the frame. All other parts will be fitted, polished and tuned as needed. Trigger pull and break weights will be set to the customer’s request. If no specific weight is requested, break weight will be set to 3 ½ pounds.

Frame, slide and external parts will be blended for aesthetics and function. Sharp corners will softened. This is not a melt job.

Magazines will be media blasted with glass beads unless coating is requested.

Parts that are not noted will be factory Colt parts. Those can be exchanged at your request for an additional cost. Factory Colt parts that are out of spec and cannot be brought into spec will be replaced at the customer’s expense.

Your pistol will be built with the upmost attention and care as if it was being built for my own mother to carry. The gun has to run. Whether you choose to carry it, keep in your safe as a periodic range piece, or as an investment, the gun has to run. There is no implied or expected hard or “very tight” fitting for these pistols. You will enjoy shooting this pistol. Your pistol will feature a Black Hammer Arms maker’s mark to signify provenance.

Base price for these custom Colts is $4,062.76

Refinish options for slide, frame, and small parts:
Manganese Parkerize: $150
Cerakote or DuraCoat single color: $250
Cerakote or DuraCoat two tone: $275
Parkerize and Single Color Coating: $375
Blueing will be quoted at the time of request and will be performed by Accurate Plating & Weaponary.
Front strap checkering will be quoted at the time of request.
Magazines, Cerakote or DuraCoat single color to match pistol: $25 per magazine. This does not include the follower or base pad.

All parts and services will be taxed at time of delivery for Washington residents.

To reserve your pistol, a deposit of $2500.00 may be paid by money-order, check, or cash. If you decide to not follow through and work has not begun on your pistol, you will be refunded $1900.00 minus applicable sales tax. Your pistol and parts will be transferred to you pending applicable background checks for Washington residents. If you are not a Washington resident, your pistol and parts will be shipped to your preferred FFL. I will notify you before I begin to work on your pistol. Once I have begun working on your pistol, your deposit is not refundable. If shipping is required that will be an additional cost to you. When your pistol is complete you will be notified and transfers will take place in house for Washington resident customers that choose to use my service at no additional cost. If you need your pistol shipped to your preferred FFL, this will be an additional cost to you. Your remaining balance must be paid and cleared in advance of your transfer. If you do not pass the required background checks, your pistol will be held for 60 days while you clear up your issues. After 60 days, your pistol purchase will be forfeited and you will not receive a refund or any compensation of any type. The pistol that would have been yours will be sold.

Time of delivery will average six months after the initial deposit is received. Many factors can and will determine time of delivery such as previously scheduled projects, availability of parts, and how often you ask about the status of your pistol. The more you ask, the longer it will take. You will receive updates as your pistol progresses. Prices and parts are subject to change. If my cost of the pistol or parts goes up, so does yours. If my cost of the pistol or parts goes down, so does yours. If Colt changes their offerings, a comparable model will be chosen by myself.
