Especially for Damon, and his high speed Sony and his drone. Good thing nobody had bird shot.

I didnt get any photos at the shoot, but caught this on the way in. Quite a sight to behold. Just wish I had my good camera.

cmica Chris brought a sweet number to the annual festivities... Integrally suppressed bolt action 6.5 Creedmoor.
We got to feast our eyes on it several months ago when he stopped by for a visit and supper.
Here the Balrog ponders her choice of fathers.

lunacite Chris was as helpful, knowledgeable and generous as ever. The man knows his stuff, and I'd sure want him on my team in any sticky situation. I don't have pics of Chris, but here is Dread Princess thanking him for a lesson and allowing her to shoot one of his fine rifles:

The shifty looking fellow looking on in this photo is actually not so shifty... He stepped right in and helped the Dark Princess correct a grip error. That's our own Mr MadPick! He stepped in fearlessly where I would have been clubbed to the ground. Brave man Steve!

Ok, now he looks shifty again.

Dave and Rita... I really like this pic.

sinus211 on the left, looking like he's about to one-hand an SMG through an enemy platoon and I think that the fellow on the right is one of my sons trying out the $1k Mosin.

Yeah, that had the scent of a wasted trip. I'm proud of my sons for tearing into the fifty...
It's brand new, been waiting for my schedule to clear up and an opportunity to put it through its paces at at least 400 yards, but it still wasn't in the short term schedule so thought it'd be nice to stretch it out today.
I had put it together when I first got it, but that's it. So today what started out as 4 light primer strikes in a row ended up sending 56 640 grain pills down range.
There was frantic (at least by me) discussion about dried grease, head spacing, weak firing pin spring, mis-indexed bolt, ... maybe a few other possibilities.
Turned out that the dried/gelled grease was probably the culprit, as some liquid oil seemed to lead to some good boom time.

dan360, Massivedesign, dreadi, lunacite and several others applied vast eons of experience and knowledge - MUCH appreciated.

I have to roll my knowledge back to Furyoffire. I once had light primer strikes in bolt action. Fury handed me a bottle of "gun oil" and said drip this in the firing pin hole. No more light primer strikes. So, open that bolt and lube that sucker up.

I'm so accustomed to trouble-free firearms that this caught me by surprise. Glad that the oil did the job. Thanks to all who rubbed cones on that one. I surely enjoyed the shock wave flexing the plywood separators. That was a hoot.

Here's a short vid of lunacite Chris during the suppressor portion of the shoot.
Quiet, eh?
