Mason can do it grandpa, he just needs to get time on the trigger in front of animals. It’s good that you guys had a great time together hunting, that is the main thing. Now get back over to the Pacific Northwest so we can do some more fishing!!

Things are looking up for this years hunting trips back to New York.
I bought two airline tickets to take Mason back to New York for a couple of weeks of small game hunting and try to do a little fisher trapping. Our tickets were $310 apiece. A non-resident small game/big game hunting license and two doe tags was only $110.
Mason will probably be useing a 20 gauge shotgun for small game hunting and you can't find any high base 20 gauge #6 shot. I put the word out and acquired a couple of boxes.
We leave here late on October 15th and return on October 31st. Will do a write up about our trip as it unfolds. ------------------
I then bought a airline ticket for myself to go deer hunting in November. I leave here on November 17th and return on December 14th. The season is just over three weeks. I have a buck license and two doe tags and should be able to get two more doe tags here shortly. The spot I generally like to hunt at got screwed up. The guy that owns the property let his nephew hunt there and he takes a bunch of his friends there so I will hunt another piece of private property.
I will take my five trail cams back in October and check them when I go back in November. Probably be useing that H&R 243 Handi-Rifle again.

Last year I had five tags. One buck takes and four doe tags. Doe tags are transferable and you are allowed to receive two more plus there is a State Game Land where they give our special doe tags in addition to what you have because the deer population is so high in that area.
Last year my brother who lives back there had a archery tag - buck or doe, a muzzle loader tag -buck or doe. A buck tag, four doe tages and could of recieved two more doe tags.
We will clean up on deer this comeing deer season We will be giving alot of deer meat away again.. If there are any Pennsylvania doe tags left we might hunt Pennsylvania's as well. It is only a 45 minute ride to where we hunt down there.

Caveman What parts do you like the best?. Steaks & back straps we generally cut thin. Roast we keep whole muscle sections. And bring straight venison And grind venison with pork butt.
I have a bunch of venison here and will be bringing a bunch back in October and again in December. I need to make space in the freezer. I need to buy a new pressure cooker and can some, love canned venison.

I too am ordering a 23 quart pressure cooker Monday after the final garage sale is over… Since everyone and their brothers love and hoard the wide mouth quart jars, I’m gonna go with the regular quart jars that are readily available locally. Good luck to you all.

Caveman we are leaving this coming Friday for two weeks so Mason can go small game hunting and we will try our hand at trapping fishers, coyote and fox. Then I will be back for two weeks and will be gone for a month to go deer hunting again. We need to connect when I get back and before I leave again. I will be back here from November 1st to the 16th.
