Buddy and I getting ready to head into the Blue Mountains during the general modern rifle deer season. We’ll have deer, bear and cougar tags. Any tips from folks that have hunted this area? Elevation will be between 4,000-6,000 ft, but before the first snow hits. Thanks!

As to deer hunting. The mule deer over there tend to travel in group. They are usually on the hillsides going across. Thecwhite tail are usually in the draws and cantons. Mostly under cover. Early morning and late afternoon evening are when you will see deer. Almost never during the midday. Plan to be in position well before dawn and be prepaered to harvest drag you deer in the dark for the evening hunts. Be prepared for the back country.
Good luck with hunting. The clear duts are your friends for deer.
