Finally got my Camp Chef Woodwind 36 Wifi put together along with the Sidekick. That thing is pretty big relative to the Traeger Lil Tex Elite that I use to have. Had a minor issue with shelf as it appears they made a design change and pressed threaded inserts into the legs yet sent me through bolts. I'll get in touch with customer service on Monday.
I'll do the burn-in tomorrow and am looking forward to my first 'cue at the new (to us) house.

I wish technology solved people issues. It seems to just reveal them.
I do enjoy having a pellet grill; mine's a Recteq.
I don't know anything about that particular grill. If it's a screaming deal, then why not. If not, make sure it's really the one that you want.
I'm not picky on pellet grills. I really wanted the SmokePro XXL from Camp Chef, but I keep hearing the smoke generation is pretty bad, so that one's out.
Funny, neighbor's dad is giving him his Recteq, that's why he's selling the Traeger.
I like my egg, but I don't like staying up all night to babysit it on a brisket. If I can set it and forget it for eight hours until the stall, it's a step up in that regard. I'll probably end up buying it from him.

You should be able to set it and forget it. Until I got the wifi PID on my rec-tec, I had a remote thermometer with alarms set if the smoker got too hot or too cold (flameout). First few overnight cooks were stressful.

I've got a couple recteqs and traegers, I like the recteq better but would buy a 34 Elite for that price everytime one came up. The weak point is the controller but can be upgraded to a smoke daddy or Savanah stoker.

Looking at the Smoke Daddy rebuild/upgrade kit, looks to be an upgrade or repair for pretty much anything that could go wrong short of a structural failure. So for $500 all in ($250 for smoker, $250 for upgrade package) it looks like a pretty solid buy.
For you brisket guys..... don't know if you guys had caught these vids that were posted recently, but they should guide you all to smoking better briskets! It all seems to make sense..... add some beef tallow back to the brisket when you wrap it.... pretty simple idea/concept. My neighbor is super stoked to give it a try.... he's been failing pretty miserably at briskets on his green egg -- I think its because he keeps trying to cook them hot and fast - because he saw a video on it... I've since convinced him that he needs to figure out how to get the egg to go low and slow --- he was pretty impressed with the pork butt he did a few weeks ago. He was always of the mindset that 'he didn't get a good enough cut of meat' as to why things don't turn out so good. At least now he is upping his game at controlling the cooker rather than focusing on the prep and seasoning.
I thought I should add this vid too that kicked it all off....

Of the ten voices I hear in my head, only three keep telling me NOT to shoot.... Do I go with the majority or common sense?

I've been cooking briskets for years. Prefer whole packers and those take at least an hour/lb plus rest time. Low and slow, ride the stall, wrap when resting.

Did a brisket yesterday and the wind wouldn't let my smoker get over 200 degrees. Ended up finishing in the instant pot, not bad but not totally what I wanted.
