Otherwise, Carnivore girl has claimed them. You know how this goes....I do it for her for her dinners at work and something to snack on before. The Tri Tip is a nice break from the other Beef and Chicken I was making for her too. Thanks for hooking me up! She got Crab today, SW and QFC have good deals on Dungeness right now. I have to keep Sugar Mama happy.

QFC is more than a dollars worth of gas in savings for me to get there, so SW it was. Too crappy out to ride the Scooter and spend 50 cents in gas, and too crappy to take the Nova and spend 10 bucks in gas. One place I would not recommend for either crab or shrimp is Fred Meyer's. Last couple times there the Dungeness sucked, and the shrimp didn't have a 12 hour fridge life before it stunk my fridge to hell. Same company as QFC, but a world of difference for quality.

Anybody seen these before? B&B charcoal logs instead of briquettes. Figured they were worth a shot and I like the B&B briquettes.

I've never used anything like that.... but my gut intuition says that it would be harder to get those 'logs' to burn clean in the beginning --- doesn't look like they would light uniformly or easily - and if they do it looks like it will burn HOT(ter).... I'm guessing those are more meant for offsets.
Report back --- I'm curious how they work.

They lit and burned clean and easily. Basically, just a different shape briquette as far as I can tell. They do burn hot, just like regular B&B briquettes. Since both burn hotter you use less, so that's a plus. Offset smoking in the Weber and I only need a couple to keep the temp 225-275. (There was a couple regular B&B's going to though, so it may need three if they were the only ones in there. Chugging along with Beef back ribs.
