What about asking the hunnies at the asian grocery? (tell them Jim says "hi" :wink05: )

I was in there today and I did look at the pans they had. Steels were sold out and all they had left were aluminum.
On Saturdays they have a lady selling:
Pork sinigang
Caldereta
Pancit
Lumpia
Halo-Halo

You want a flat bottom, right?

Babish 14" Carbon steel on Amazon.

A little undecided on getting the flat bottom. We have gas here and having a round bottom with the holder would work well.

With gas I would go with the ring and a round bottom Wok.

I bought the lodge cast iron wok. Works great. It is Heavy as hell though. I know & have nothing to compare it to as this is the first wok I've ever owned.

I bought a Joyce Chen carbon steel wok. It is so-so.

I have a great coating on my cast iron pans. What appeared to be a good coating on the wok. But I get sticking.

I go back and forth between the wok and a skillet when I cook Asian food.

What I got:

Joyce Chen Carbon Steel Wok, 14-Inch, Silver https://a.co/d/bhf0jSD

How do you toss the food in a cast iron wok?

You forgot the wrist braces too.

Lodge Cast Iron is way too thick in any application. I have a couple pans and if it wasn't a gift from my stepson they would be gone. Yeah, it works....but i much prefer vintage cast Iron that is thinner.

In fact, I used it tonight, Rick.

I even used the lid and the wok spatula . . . my cultural appropriation knows no bounds!

There's a cleaver?!! icon_eek :cussing:

I bought this and this.

The wok spatula is fairly thin and wimpy; I bent it the first time I used it. I've bent it back and I'm still using it, but it's definitely a cheap and weak utensil.

The wok itself is nice.

Life lesson on this...don't buy because it includes a package of cheap shit with what you want. Buy what you need, don't go cheap (Rick) Buy once, cry once.
