Ya, it's seasoned right too (burned and then rice ground into it) to remove any loose grit. Absolutely important in the processing of salsa. For anyone interested in buying and prepping one, here ya go. https://www.cocinaxicana.com/post/how-to-season-your-molcajeteso get the molcajete prepped then call you over to make foods with it? Hahaha, Welp I wouldn't object to cooking for everyone, but you all have to wash the dishes. Love Mexican food. We eat it a ton in our house. Even make some pretty killer salsas, although we've never used a molcajete. I know its traditional, but we can all of ours. Pico if we want fresh. I make a mean chile verde and camarones con crema. Always nice to learn something new of another way of doing some of your favorite dishes.

Gotta be Chairman Mark Dacascos on that one, or no deal. :) I have a friend in Germany who it's a good thing she's not a member here, or between shooting and Mexican cooking she'd probably have a crush on you...

I like to smoke the meat using real wood. A 10 pound pork loin takes 6 hours to smoke. I start them frozen. I either dice the meat or use an old fashioned hand cranked meat grinder once done. Just last weekend I installed a wood cook stove in the cabin's porch. I have the cook top seasoned already with bacon fat. I lay a couple slices of bacon on the stoves grill top and when the bacon is part done lay on the steaks.....
