Ill admit that for the first 35 years of my life I would NOT touch this stuff, smashed up Chickpeas.....YUCK!!!
Well 8 years later thanks to my awesome wife who finally convinced me that it is NOT posion and I will NOT grow a 3rd leg from eating the stuff I am munching the stuff on a weekly basis.
My biggest issue is I am not too brave with changing my brand which is the Sabra brand which you can find at any store, I picked up some Hummus from Trader Joes here a awhile ago and it was OK kinda bland in my opinion.
Any fans on here?

To make your own as smooth as a restaurant, there’s a trick that’s easy, and you can use canned beans...baking soda! There is another trick if you don’t want garlic to over-power it...put lemon juice & garlic in food processor first, let sit for 5-10 minutes...then add the rest. Also, good tahini matters, the kind in a can tends to separate, and it’s near impossible to get remixed... And Goya beans are the best, according to America’s Test Kitchen, and somebody else... This recipe is very similar to what I do, and explains the baking soda angle... https://cookieandkate.com/best-hummus-recipe/Hope this was okay to post in your thread, Z.

I get lots of Sabra, got two containers just today actually. I got for the Supremely Spiced while the girls prefer the Pine Nut one. Not because it's the best, but it's consistent and the flavors are on point.
It's all pretty plain compared to the stuff I used to get at the now-gone Omar Al-Khyyam in Renton. Phenomenal restaurant. Or what I got in Jordan last year, even their "bulk for the military contract" hummus is better than store bought here.
I agree the tahini makes the difference. I can usually tell when a brand skimps (it's the most expensive ingredient).
