Kicking off a thread to see what different folks pick for their favorite mixed drinks, whether it be at home or out at the saloon
My top picks are: - Whiskey Sour - Gin and Tonic (my summer favorite all the way back to high school) - Campari and Soda

For me, as far as mixed drinks the main one is Single Malt Scotch and a little water. Down on the list would be a Gin & Tonic or a Margarita (on the rocks, no salt). Otherwise, nothing else is enjoyable to me.

I always like ordering Old Fashioned as a way of personally understanding someones mixed drink preferences, since there are so many variations on whiskey, sugar, bitters, garnishes, and use of mixer choices.

Most commonly made in my house, bourbon over ice, or bourbon & coke with lime juice & some tonic (not tonic water). I like a good margarita but rarely make them, G&T's are OK, I've never been a gin fan, but I keep some decent stuff around for friends & family who are. Moscow mules are a favorite to order at the bar (back when that was a thing), or as noted above, an old fashioned.

Captain, or Sailor Jerry, and Coke. Margarita from scratch, no mix. Then 7 and 7. I'm not a fan of whisky and water, or even scotch and water, I prefer full strength.

I'll need to add Moscow Mule and Old Fashioned to my list. Believe it or not I've never tried these before Enjoyed quite a few G&T at the Coast on our family Spring Break trip last couple days. Love those things. Any absinthe drinkers on the forum? I've only ever had it once in Germany with the whole sugar cube on fire thing. Was quite a presentation followed by a bout of drinking down a liquid resembling jet fuel Been a long time ago though.

I've had some nice absinthe, both with and without sugar. I think there is a lot of novelty to it. The color change is kind of interesting. If you like anise or black licorice you would like absinthe. I suppose same could be said about ouzo.
