yeah, i'd hate to derail this thread too much, but wanted to answer your question.
my favorite blended Japanese whiskey is Nikka from the Barrel and Shin 15yr. my favorite pure Japanese is Suntory Yamazaki 12yr and 18yr. i've been craving some 18yr, but my wife is forbidding me from opening any more bottles we have of the 18yr due to the increase in value. we purchased a case of 18yr yamazaki years ago, but with a recent article coming out, the value of each bottle skyrocketed, so i've been drinking more american these days.

OK back to tequila I don't really have a gut feel for the tasting difference between Reposado and Anejo yet. Was at Spec's today so I picked up two bottles for close comparison.

I won't crack them open till we're at our beach rental later this week. Will be incommunicado as leaving all electronics at home to get a good solid break from work. I'll reply back with my impressions in about a week when we get back.
