+1 on shepherds pie. Wife and I love it, kids not so much. We did two smoked chickens because the MIL doesn't eat meat, but will eat chicken on occasion so we tried to do things she would eat. She didn't like anything we made and was a total PITA about it. Wrecked thr night. Could of made a prime rib and things the wife and I wanted. Anyway the chicken was amazing, super juicy. Everyone else loved it. Attachment: 20201225_154556.jpg

Attachment: 20201225_154556.jpg You tried brother, and it sounds like the Chicken was amazing. If i have a finicky eater, i don't adjust everyone's menu to them, i just make something for them alone. Otherwise? sounds like your MIL has a drama thing going on. I'm sorry it worked out that way. You did good.

I made egg rolls in the air fryer using leftover beef tenderloin.

Attachment: 20201225_154556.jpg That's about the time I would put a sign on the garage door, saying "drama closet" Put a chair out there. And demand that she go sit out there. My house, my rules. You don't like it, sit in the garage.

We did Chinese food East Coast style.
Fried rice with dark soy sauce Char sui pork (boneless spareribs) Chicken stir fry Beef teriyaki on a stick Crab rangoon
Wife has a friend who makes lumpia so we did that instead of egg rolls. Next year egg rolls for sure.
