"GO has Sheboygan brats for $3 for a # pak - real Wisconsin brats --- picked up some cheddar brats and smoked them last night ---- really NICE! Might have to go back for more."
What and where is "GO"?

(Same) parts are for smoke grilling --- whole birds go on the WSM for smoking and I do two at a time to stay in good with my neighbors. After I get a couple more cooks on the kettle I'll be up for trying a spatchcock chicken on it --- or if I end up wanting a whole bird and the neighbors aren't around, I want to try a spatchcock on the WSM too. Toying with whether or not to pick up a beer can rig.... I found one for $4 at GO - it would be fun once or twice, but I don't see it getting used alot. Break down 2 or 3 birds… 6 legs 6 thighs 6 breasts (technically 1 breast cut in two on each…) 6 wings And…, carcasses to make chicken stock

You guys need to check your Just-For-You on the Safeway app..... They are giving me an 8 piece fried chicken for $3.56.... I've got lots of chicken at the moment.... but damn --- I haven't had FRIED chicken in probably 1.5-2 years...?...? Suddenly I have a craving.... The best part is it says '8 piece' --- so that means NOT just dark - which I have no problem with - but I'll take a mixed at the same price any day. I used to live on the the SW fried chicken when it was really cheap.... $5 Cheap Chicken Mondays used to be my standard - half the week of dinners given.
I'm not gonna feel good about it -- but goddammit I want some crispy/crunchy chicken. I can't say no at that price.... get the 'crunchy deep fried' craving out of my system...

Ran in to QFC to pick up some milk ($1/half gal) and I saw this guy walking up to the ckeck out with a stack of meat flats and I could see the 99 cent/# sticker on it.... I had to go investigate.... DAMN!!! Boneless/skinless breasts - strips or thin cut - for 99/#!!!!! I just couldn't resist.... I ended up with only 5# because I left the store with an empty wallet and only change in my pocket.... Fighting the urge to go back for more....
Mondays seem to be a good day to swing bye QFC I'm figuring out.

I've found that the Kirkland Costco sometimes has a good selection of Wagyu beef. I stopped by today and picked up some steaks. Guess what package I bought? steak 1 ribeye Wagyu $32.99/lb steak 2 NY Wagyu $28.99/lb steak 3 Prime ribeye $23.99/lb - Spoiler: show
- steak 3 - looked more like Wagyu than the others

Ha! I was gonna guess prime. I think you made a good choice there.
Supposedly Costco carries the fancy A5 wagyu, though I've never run across it -- maybe I'm not looking hard enough. I might splurge on that one day and try it, but the American wagyu just doesn't get me interested enough to spend even a little more.

Here is a pic of the steaks on the grill. The wife thought some of them were too rare so I had to cook them a bit more. I left mine medium rare.

In case you missed it --- Safeway has Cosmic Crisp apples for $.79/# with a digital coupon!!!! Load up!
I had picked up some fuji and red delicious ~ 2 weeks back when they were $.77/# just for something different.... I would've been disappointed if they weren't so cheap... I still had two Cosmics from 2-3 weeks PRIOR - I tried to use up the fiji and RDs as quick as I could, but the one I cut up on wednesday was all brown inside --- the old cosmic I cut up yesterday was still PERFECT! I still think the Cosmics are still a bit too sweet --- but goddam they keep a long time!!! Almost worth paying a bit more just to have them keep... but its a steal when they are this cheap.
