As far as it happens when I'm asleep, no big deal Funny though. Yesterday I kept seeing "Line in Use" on my cordless phone screen. Went through the entire house and there were no phones off the hook. Called Frontier and the guy on the other end reset the ONI (Fios). Still no dial tone on the cordless. I took an Old School phone and plugged it into the ONI test port. Dial Tone. Moved to the old phone company box where Frontier ran their line so it would feed my in-home wiring and had dial tone. Went inside and plugged into the socket in my garage and NOW I have a dial tone. Not a freaking thing was done on my end and yet----------- Maybe it is the Russians and they're now attacking not just HRC's e-mails but gun forum servers and gun owners phones. Memo to self, restock Tin-Foil.

Maybe the site problems were some fallout from this: http://www.chicagotribune.com/bluesky/technology/ct-internet-down-ddos-attack-20161021-story.htmlQuote: thering cyberattacks on server farms of a key internet firm repeatedly disrupted access to major websites and online services including Twitter, Netflix and PayPal across the United States on Friday. Scary when you think how much is now done through "server farms". The days of companies having all their data stored on servers in a back room are being replaced with "Cloud Computing". Even the applications necessary to conduct business are held in the Cloud with communication from company employees accomplished with "apps" on their desktop. I had some experience (briefly) with an system we used to do everything from creating proposals, purchase orders, invoices, managing the general ledger, inventory, payroll, etc, through a cloud based system. "Commerce" through every company using that system ceased when the main system went down. In the old days one company office could have a problem but the rest just ran on their own local servers until the central system came back online and "sync'd". Sure glad I retired. Now if the internet goes down I'll just head to the range. BTW, a couple of other gun forums went wonky too.

Compensation is relative.... Still zero. All airfare, hotel, food, everything is paid out of our own pockets.

Or you could just set it up so when the sight is down it shows pictures like this. Then people will not care if it is down.
