Trijicon Optics (ACOGS)

https://www.trijicon.com/support/product-authenticity

Call or e-mail Trijicon with the model number and serial number to verify if it's authentic or a knock-off scope. Knock-offs tend to have the same serial number on all of them.

info@trijicon.com or at (800)338-0563

Customer Service Hours
M-F 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. EST

Some conventional wisdom for identifying fake ACOGs:
- Should have the digital square.
- "Tririum" = fake.
- A real ACOG will have tritium and be illuminated in the dark.

Well, Crap! :((

But thank you. Ya did a really good deed. thumbsup

I remembered an Aimpoint I got "a deal" on at a show.
MY buddy also got one.
I had mine briefly on my FAL. Glad now I removed it.
My buddy had problems with his.

"Fake copy, all lettering in white, fake serial #"
Check

"Real Aimpoint adjustment."
Nope, not what I have.

"Fake copy adjustment."
Yep, that's what I have.

Now I wish I'd read this in about 2007. Oh well, I guess I have a rugged LOOKING dot site that will probably work OK on a .22 or something else that doesn't kick. This is a very useful thread, and I sincerely thank you for the effort.

3rd party sellers on Amazon are probably just as bad as ebay.

I generally avoid Amazon too. Just a little while ago, some Amazon seller was selling fake Rainier Arms Raptors that looked very, very close to the real thing, and the price wasn't even so low that you'd think "If the price is too good to be true, then it probably is".

Fake braces are a thing now, the most popular one being the SB SBA3. There is a classified ad for one now with discussion of fake vs real so I thought I would post this.

The easiest way to tell a fake sba3 from a real one is that the real ones have 4 circular marks on the back and the roll pins are silver.
Fake ones will not have the marks and the pins will be black. The fake ones fit very tight but of course you wouldn't know this until you got one and by then it's obviously too late.

The picture below is of a REAL brace.
