Well, it's that time of the year again! Usually we start planning this earlier, but... well.. yhea. This will be the 4th Annual New Years Shootout, Planned for Jan 1st, 2016! Where? At the Evergreen Sportsman's Club ( MAP) We will have exclusive use of the covered and benched 10-11 position 100-yard range, as well as the use of the covered and benched 25 yard pistol bay. When?January 1st, 2016 from 10am-4pm (shooting will be allowed from 11am-4pm) Why?Why the hell not! How much?Edit: No charge. See this thread: viewtopic.php?f=60&t=63551Any additional details?A few; Small stuff:- All Shooters are required to sign a waiver provided by ESC.
- No .50BMG (I know, I know.. but it is, what it is)
- Single port-a-potty is on site
Targets:- Target stands that accept 1x2's will be there for us to use. There will be a limited amount of sticks and cardboard on hand, so no guarantees.
- No trash / refuse to be used as targets.
- Steel is okay, and echoes nicely.
- Tannerite is allowed!!.
- Pack out what you pack in.
Range Rules:- Gun safety is #1!
- Standard Range Rules will apply and will be posted
- Anybody who is unsafe with firearms will be asked to leave
- No loaded guns allowed behind the shooting area
- No handling guns during cold range
- The range will be run by WaGuns and hand selected RSO's.
Capacity:- TONS of parking is available
- Rifle - With 10-11 benches / stalls in the rifle range, that section can comfortably house 22 shooters (2 per station)
- Pistol - 3 benches can fit 6 people
- Plan to rotate around, share stations
- There are rifle racks and counters behind the shooting station. Plan on sharing racks and counter space
- Tents/EZ-Ups. Bring em if you want. You won't be able to shoot out of them, but it would be a good place to hang out while others shoot.
Food:- BYO... Food and beverage. I am sure we will have a thread shortly about a BBQ
- This is a no alcohol facility.
I am sure there is more. Please contribute to the poll above if you plan on coming. Comment as well if need be!

woo hoo
I can bring foods, pop, heater and maybe a table and shelter
Post up kids, maybe even a list of firearms that may show up for those that would like to try some vintage or communist iron, a pistol they are considering purchasing or just the strange and unique that's never been seen in action!!!

I wish this was the 2nd. I'd be all over it. Hell, I'd even tow the smoker down, but there is no way I will be in any sort of shape to make it on the first, let alone shoot. Sounds like a blast. Have fun guys!

For those like me... January 1, 2016 is a Friday. A couple of hints for those new...1) It's often COLD... so bring lots of layers! Hat and Gloves and Good warm boots! Overdress! You can always take layers off!!!!!! 2) Bring something to share (food, snacks) 3) Folks are very good at sharing... so if you ask nicely and drool a bit... you can try some new toys! 4) Evergreen is kick ass! - you can shoot their steel target 5) Did I mention it's often cold! It's deceptive because it may only be like mid 30's but when you are out in it for hours... it gets cold to the core! 6) WaGuns - the admins and supporters give away some cool shit! So stick around get your raffle ticket and it's a good chance you'll go home with something new! 7) If you don't have a WaGuns nametag... just ask MadPick or Massivedesign... they'll send you one or have it ready at the shoot! 8) Plan to stay a few hours (at least)... I would say if you stick around a few hours... might as well stick around for the raffle!!! 9) If in doubt... ask questions before you do it on the range. The range staff are very friendly 10) Bring extra ammo! 11) If it's raining or had rained... the range can become very muddy. So bring boots!

Hi Dan, Thanks for putting this on. I'll be there with my girlfriend and her 5 year old grandson (don't worry, we'll keep him in check). I'm planning on making two pots of chili: a fairly spicy Chili con Carne and a pot of traditional chili with beans. We'll bring disposable bowls and spoons for folks. Not quite sure how I'll heat it or keep it hot on-site though yet. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.
Also just let me know if any help needed manning a BBQ. Mine isn't really portable though if there's one on site would have no problem cooking for folks or helping out. Just let us know in advance and we can bring hardwood charcoal or briquets as well as other supplies as needed.
Thanks, Dave

OH HELL YES, I'll be there. With Tannerite. And a steel target. And some oddball guns. This is THE big WaGuns shoot of the year, folks. We have a good time every single year! I encourage everyone to make the trip, and come spend a few hours with us! As we get closer to the event, I'll start a separate thread about name tags and I'll get them made up for folks that are coming.
