Post Re: Alter Your Gun's Trigger Pull
Pritch, the tech info for my Glock 26 says 5.5.

demonwai, hmmm, I had to google "reset". Interesting. I saw a price of about $200 to have it done, but not on a Glock. It may feel more normal while shooting the gun to lighten the pull as opposed to resetting it.

Hedge, thank you for your kind offer. I live in Federal Way. I see you're in Vancouver. I took my dog there to see a specialist. It was about a 2 hour drive. I did google up instructions on how to do it, though I don't know that I'd attempt it by myself. It doesn't seem too hard, so I'd think having it done wouldn't cost much, but who knows. It's still a decision I have to make, which will take a while since I have to use my gun more. I don't feel like the trigger is particularly hard to pull, it's just that it may be nice to have it a bit lighter. Here are instructions I found, but the person doesn't put a title with their name so you have to wonder what their expertise is:

http://www.ehow.com/how_6739429_shorten ... -pull.html

I should add in, I'm surprised how common altering the trigger pull seems to be. The guy I met at the range who did it to his gun said that he taught police officers to shoot, which gave him credibility. I know the gun he had me shoot of his with the altered trigger pull was a higher caliber than my 9mm, and I hit the bulleyes very easily. It got me to thinking it was because of his altering the trigger pull.

Many factors are in accuracy. Caliber, trigger, sights, and size of firearm.

Besides time and distance.

A G-26 is a compact if I remember right.

When comparing a compact to a full size firearm for accuracy. 95% the larger size will be inherently be more accurate (within the same class of firearms).

Easier to grip, sight radius is longer and more stable and recoil is often less.

I bought my gun from a really reasonably priced store in Federal Way many may know about because of their lower prices. The owner did mention I may want to get the 17 or 19, I forget which one for the very reason you mentioned.

The 26 is a subcompact, but the magazine is double stacked, so the gun is a bit thick for CC.

My "baby", hey, that's what it's called, it's not a girly term:)......

dj, an avatar is supposed to represent who you are. I'm going to guess you're not female, and that the picture represents what you want:)

I don't want to go thru bullets that fast, lol! I've been to the range with my new gun about 5x. I shoot about 250 rounds each time, so I'd say I've only shot 1,250 rounds. After reloading 24x, I arrive with a full magazine of target rounds, I'm done and want to start fresh another day. I keep my extra magazine filled with home protection rounds, Hornady Critical Defense.

JustinC, did you alter the trigger pull?

Anyone, jump in on this, do cop's work Glocks get altered for a harder trigger pull? If so, does Glock provide them that way or does someone else alter them?

So, depends on how each LEO department is set up and how they buy them...

If a department has a department armour... or if they can get a group buy... Just depends.

But back to your question about heavier triggers for Glocks.
