I would be more concerned about being pictured shouldering a pistol with an "arm brace" than letting another shooter play with my weapon.
No matter, looks like a good time to me.
594? No fucks are given.

it would seem that if people have swapped guns and the cops rolled in, it would be best to just hang on to the one you have and claim it's yours. it's not like they can prove any different.

Its a designated range by the state dnr if i'm not mistaken that gets rid of all 594 requirements.

Valid point sir. Never thought of it that way. Legal range means legal range. If it is legal to shoot somewhere, it is legal to swap guns around. My back yard included.

Just to clarify, the language from RCW 9.41.113 is pasted below. I think you could argue Triangle Pit meets the requirements for an exception because DNR authorizes its use to set up targets and shoot (shooting range?), but someone's back yard does not:
========
(ii) if the temporary transfer occurs, and the firearm is kept at all times, at an established shooting range authorized by the governing body of the jurisdiction in which such range is located;

That does seem to qualify it, doesn't it?
Besides after mulling it around there MAY be a cop or two who would get uppity about it, but at least in my county the deputies hate the law and it would be doubtful they would do anything more than tell you not to do it (even they think it's hard to enforce) and are probably more worried about a longer transfer, i.e. you taking someone else's gun home with you. Just my thoughts about it since last night and reading your comments.

Cat, I'm glad you like the Hornady hat. It's a Shot Show 2015 PIF. I'm glad we could find it a happy home. :)

So, I went back up there the other day just to see if the signs were still there... THEY WERE! I didn't venture into the pit, but the signs were still there, so that's good!

Excellent.
Did DNR pick up those piles that we left?
