Post Portland Gun Show 3/17-18/12
Hey all,

There is a gun show in Portland this weekend. It is a Wes Knodel show. I was curious about 2 things.

1) Will any of you be attending?

2) and what will I need to do to sell\purchase something in Portland when I am a WA resident?

Any advice would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

By "something" do you mean something that goes bang?

If so:

- Long guns need to go through an FFL in either state.
- Handguns need to go through an FFL in your state of residence (WA).

So . . . to the best of my knowledge, you could buy or sell long guns at the show as long as you do it through an FFL. To sell a handgun to an OR resident, you would need to transfer it through an OR FFL.

Other folks . . . does that sound right?

Awesome. Well, get here quickly . . . if you don't arrive until 1:00, you'll only have a couple of hours at the show.

Also, you can't buy or sell guns unless you're a member; you can't even bring them into the show. So leave your Sig (and all other guns) in the car, pay your admission to the show, then go to the membership table at the show and get signed up. (They'll refund your entrance fee that you paid.) Then go back out to the car and get the Sig, make sure it's empty with the mag removed, then bring it back. On the way in, they'll zip-tie the action for you.

What about EDC with a CPL?

NOPE

You can keep your carry gun on you if you are a WAC member, but just like any other gun at the show . . . it needs to be empty with no mag, and the action zip-tied.

You also cannot have any loaded mags on you.

Yeah, it's a good topic of debate every few months . . . whether the WAC "gun ban" is a good thing or not.
