Another school shooting, another Gun Free zones failure
Another school shooting, another failure of ‘Gun-free schools’ act With last week’s shooting incident at a Bremerton-area elementary school fresh on everyone’s mind, today’s deadly shooting at an Ohio high school comes as one more reminder that the legislative panacea to such incidents, adopted more than a decade ago, just might be a fraud. http://www.examiner.com/gun-rights-in-s ... chools-act

I too agree Dave that things need to change. It's broken and it needs to be fixed. One thing that has crossed my mind after the whole Schram interview was parental accountability. We have access to tax free safes, low cost trigger locks and free common sense lessons. When these kids get access to their families firearms, why isn't the family held accountable?
While I do not think it needs to go into a mandatory "own a safe" law, there should be some way to hold the parents/family partially responsible for negligence if due diligence isn't performed to secure a firearm.

Trigger locks are free. Just ask. Hell, I have over a dozen I'll give anyone who asks. They're not be sexy but they keep the gun inop.

Jail time big fine, or both for gun neglect leading to child vs gun accidents - because, they are not accidents. They are gun ignorance and stupidity waiting to happen. If you own guns, and have children, they should know everything about gun safety, parental punishment as consequences for unsupervised gun handling, and the lethal consequences of irresponsible gun handling from birth, practically. I had 3 brothers growing up, and my father had several hundred guns in his personal collection, and the back log of customer guns he worked on. Not one gun ever posed a problem in the hands of the four of us. Why ? because we were well schooled in the consequences of any deviation from the Teachings Of The Dad.
