I would think you can keep a safe distance at a range. And there should be things that could be done to minimize grouping. But, geez, a range is one of the last places I'd think to close down.
This is not good. It means more pressure on the forests. There's already a lot of pressure and few places in some areas. I hope we pay extra attention to keeping shooting places cleaned up because if it suddenly gets worse and out of control, we'll loose more.
So if you go to public land to shoot, commit Random Acts of Cleanups. Post up some pics and name the forest you were in. I would like to let those forest agencies know that we are still enjoying and caring for the land. It's how we keep it open.
Thanks,
Bill

You may wish to play games but Officers and Directors with a fiduciary duty to their organizations will not. If and when there is clarity that this proclamation doesn’t include outdoor shooting sports facilities - that’s a different conversation. With that said, I expect KC (and potentially most of Western WA) to be under “shelter in place” orders by the end of the week...so it won’t matter if these ranges are open or closed.

Not playing games. Not sure where that argumentative attitude came from. I understand indoor clubs and facilities, outdoor is nonsensical. But so are runs on TP.

The only other thing I’d add to this is that at a lot of the ranges you see a lot of folks that fall into that danger demographic. I think we all want to see shooters at the ranges, but If I were there I’d rather not have to worry about our older folks getting sick and possibly not making it.
