I don't know of any water filter that takes out radiation. The enviro-suits and gear are the cost of a small car.
It is up to everyone to prepare for themselves and have a shelter dug,built,finished and functional. These shelters cost about the same as a second mortgage. The gov has no local nuke shelters in this area.
I asked recently during a local hazmat class for C.E.R.T. training.
