A friend of mine shared this on Facebook earlier today. It gave me a good chuckle, as it looks cool, but clearly wouldn't be feasible as a real structure. But it got me to thinking. If you could have a bunker built to your exact specifications, cost being no object, what would it entail? Armory? Jacuzzi? Nuclear missile silo? Sharks with laser beams attached to their heads?

Looks like the gun room is too far down.

I'd like to buy one of those old de-commissioned missile silos with the underground support facilities as well. Next best would be a small mountain in the middle of a large flat plain. Build underground and be able to observe anyone approaching from any direction. Maybe I'll win a "near billion dollar" Power Ball jackpot and make it happen.

You guys should read "Friday" by Robert Heinlein. Awesome high-end bunker description in there.
Actually, his "Farnham's Freehold" would be good too, for the bunker stuff, but maybe not so much for the weird racial stuff.

With my water table that would be a giant cistern of sorts ...

There are numerous companeis that build bunkers these days. The old Silo is one of the better options, if it hasn't been too badly compromised. Picture is a bit over done but there are some very good ideas built in as well. Water supply and hydrophonics is a good idea. Too many ladders though!

Couple of things that I noticed after looking at the picture again... A: Shuttle blast would wipe out half the bunker B: There's what look like prison cells right above what looks like a TV studio.... C: Shark tank in the laundry room.... dafuq?

It puts the lotion on the skin! Srlsly though.....my ideal bunker would have smoking hot sex robots that also cooked and cleaned the place, and another must have feature is at least one sub-aqueous ingress/egress point out in the sound with my own personal mini sub and scuba gear. Now that Im thinking about it I would need a hidden hangar for my helicopter too.

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.
