Very impressive! You'll be doing a lot of weeding this spring and summer! I can't wait to see the difference in the size of the plants a few months from now.

I keep it covered through the winter so the weeds tend to be minimal once summer starts. That's when I put my 8 year old to work.

You've got some guts putting out your tomatoes and peppers this early. I usually put them out mid to late May when I plant my corn. Watch the weather! If it looks like you'll get low temps or extended crappy days of heavy rain/hail I would cover them in a cloche of some sort.

No guts needed, just past experience.

Been planting my starts around the 2nd week of April every year for the past six years or so and have had no issues.

Well I suppose Washington weather is silly. If I had put any of my tomatoes out today they would be toast. I had serious hail just before noon. And a light frost yesterday morning. I'm in the valley at damn near sea level so the cold settles here. We get wicked winds from the South West that strip tender starts too. Gotta love those micro climates!

We are getting an extremely late start.. Our garden area is mush because of the rainfall... While normally not a problem, the county ditch next to my house isn't working properly, causing all the water to come into our yard where the garden is. Yesterday we were installing a curtain drain to try and deflect it.... After digging only 8" down, it was a river flowing..

I have to get the county out to excavate their ditch.

Man, transplanting from California I didn't realize how ROCKY the soil here was. Wanted to do a garden but there are just stones, rocks, boulders, and pebbles everywhere.

So we built some raised beds. Less of a pain than digging in this ground here.

The tubing is to put tarps on, God only knows why, was the wife's idea. Still need some fill in some spots with gravel but it should give us a nice little yield this year.

Impressive work gentlemen. I'll have to bribe some of you with beer and Armenian barbecue when I have a place of my own to do this.

Anyone clone blueberries? I've been unsuccessful so far. Successfully cloned some flowers in a rooter. That is about as close to aquaponics as I get.

This is going to fail Im sure, but it's worth a shot anyways.

I haven't seen these before, but came across them at a nursery today and figured these would be worth a try also.

I got some seeds in the ground today. Lettuce, Carrots, Parsnips, and Beets.
I will pick up a few tomato plants and some jalapeno and pablano starts here in a week or two.

Nice! Furneys Nursery on Pacific Highway, or McLendons in Kent both have a really good selection of starts.
