Still waiting on some pumpkin, corn and jalapeno starts to come available but aside from these I got the rest of my plants in the ground over the past few days. I tilled in 3.5 yards of compost topsoil mix this past weekend, and just finished planting today.

So far this is what I have in the ground:

Eight different varieties of tomatoes
Three different varieties of Basil
Two different varieties of Onions
10 Raspberry plants
10 Blueberry plants (Four different varieties)
30 Strawberry plants (Three different varieties)
Green, Yellow & Red bell peppers
Anaheim chilies
Garlic
Cilantro
Rosemary
Two different varieties of Mint (Chocolate & Spearmint)
Chives
Artichokes
Two different varieties of Cucumbers

Very nice, I thought you were talking about pubes. This year our garden is on hold due to a remodel, next year I hope to have the heated greenhouse up.

Haha.. I will see if any can make it to my freezer of dehydrator this year. My kid would spend time out in the garden eating them right off the vine.

Isn't it a little early to have some of these things in the ground already? I know it's rarely getting above 60 at my place and dipping down to high 30's low 40's at night.

Also where are you buying your plants from?

No, I usually start planting on or around April 10th every year and I haven't had any issues in the 10+ years I have been doing it.

Generally I hit up Lowes, Home Depot, McLendons or Furney's Nursery to see what they have in stock.

Looking good! :thumbsup2:

That's about twice as many as you had last year . . . that's some good expansion right there.

I had to grow more. Heck, with the amount you were buying, didn't leave much for the neighborhood kids.

I was going to start a thread on sort of the same topic till I saw this.

So..with out trying to hijack headshots thread, maybe I can ask my question here?
My mother has had an disassembled green house in her basement for 15 years. She used to use it, but then retired and moved to Chelan. She has been trying to give it to my sister, but she does not want it.
I just bought a new house in Stanwood,( closes in JULY) its on a 1/4 acre and all back yard. So it has hardly any front yard. ( see pic) and the exposure is east/west. So the house faces east, with the back yard all west.
I have room for her green house so I will take it. It is exactly like the one pictured, with upgrades, like vents, water, solar powered cooling fans, ect.
Anyone have any experience with these? I figure veggies all year round right? Or are they a pain in the ass? She spent over a grand on it years ago not including all the upgrades. I hate to see it go to waste. Give me some tips if you have any...!!!

Personally, I start seeds rather than buying plants. The packet will tell you w/r/t frostfree dates in your neighborhood.

Thus far I have potatoes, peas, lettuce, gourds, and carrots outside, plus tomatoes inside under lights. Squash will be started indoors in the next couple weeks.

I'm now planted.

Lettuce seeds, carrot seeds (first time growing either), Heinz Super Roma tomatoe plants (6), and bush beans (6 as well), later I'll add pumpkins but just so the little ones can carve their "own" pumpkin in October.

Thinking about adding a hot pepper plant as well.

That's sweet! We were looking at these last year, but never got around to actually buying one. I'm hoping I can score one on Craigslist for a decent price soon. Here is a good article on "deep witer" veggie green houses.

http://www.mprnews.org/story/2014/02/03 ... reen-house

My house also faces east, with the back yard facing west where all my plants are. When we were house searching, it was a must to make sure that my yard had a ton of sunlight throughout the day just for this reason.
