Just got an email from Lee, the replacement part is on it's way, no charge. It even came with a bit of light scolding:

As long as you are lifting the Lever of whichever tool you are using back to the correct position and not applying additional force when you feel resistance, the Elevators or Adapters should not break. The problem is people are not bringing the Levers back up fully, so the Adapters never become completely disengaged. When the Adapter is still engaged, a primer is still allowed to travel down the chute, and becomes lodged between the chute and Primer Pin. When the Lever is being pushed down, the Elevator is trying to go up, and the primer prevents the Elevator from going up and breaks the Elevator.
