I'm looking to get a wheel gun and will most likely be reloading so I can keep up a steady diet of .357.
My question is, how much is .357 mag or even .38 special brass worth? I've seen online that .38special runs around 5 cents per round and .357 is around 12. Is that accurate?
I'm planning on trading some 5.56/.223 (assuming I can find a buyer).
1:1 for .38 special 2:1 for .357 mag
Does that sound fair?

.38 Special you can find cheap at any gun show, for .357 Mag buy in bulk from Starline Brass, you will pay same or less than used, and you can sell your excess to offset your costs making it even cheaper they have it for 13.5 cents each (1000 for $135) https://www.starlinebrass.com/order-onl ... -cases.cfm

Thanks guys.
A member here is kind enough to give me a healthy amount of .38 special brass to get me started.
.357 is harder to come by so I suppose I'll try trading 2:1 5.56 for it but if no one bites I'll be forced to purchase.

357 brass value depends entirely on whats for sale at the moment. most used places online are always out of stock, and its difficult to find a decent amount of once fired privately. I don't see anybody that reloads trading for 223 even at 4:1, as 223 can be gotten almost anywhere, anytime, in any qty, at reasonable cost. kinda an apples for oranges thing
I use a lot of 357 and found the best option to be buying ammo by the 1000/case at ammosupplywarehouse.com. for under $250 you can shoot 1000 and then reload it all 4+ times. the Armscor ammo in 357 isn't great stuff but its not bad either, and I have had no issues with their brass for reloading.

Midway runs specials on Starline brass a couple times a year.
