I have a 5 gallon bucket of paper shotgun hulls, I have no idea what to do with them. They are once fired and in good shape. Is there a trick or benefit to loading with them? I am setup to load AA hulls and am not sure if I want to go through the trouble of setting up to load these.

We loaded Federal Paper hulls in our high school gun club, Posness Warren machine in the auto-shop. Folks would have a cow about that now days. They were usually good for 4-6 loadings with the Red Dot loads we shot. Perfectly usable, just need to find the right wads. One thing to look for is gas leak pin holes, which appear where the paper case and brass cup meet. Just give them a quick once-over. Good for trap, grouse loads, dove loads, etc.

AA hulls are much better suited for heavier loads for pheasants.

All I ever loaded as a kid with a Lee hand set, mid seventies. Work great and used them for everything from ducks to quail.
If you look to get rid of them, I may be interested to dust off the box and wear some calluses in the palms again.

"Paper Hulls" reload just fine as long as they haven't been wet or have pin-holes where they join the case head.

Paper hulls do need a "Roll Crimp" in order to keep the shot contained. If you don't properly crimp them you might as well plan on loosing some shot.

Once you're properly set up (and it's really no big deal to do so) paper hulls are no more hassle than the plastic ones.

I used to grab all the Federal Paper hulls I could and gave away the plastic ones. I loved hearing someone say "They're too much trouble to reload" 'cause it just meant I could pick up his "once-fired" ones. When I quit shooting trap I had 4' tall cardboard barrel full of once-fired hulls. Used to shoot close to 600 rounds a week in practice and trap competition.
