Due to unconstitutional laws I do not have possession of my S&W 629 yet. But, I've been busy while I wait.

So everything that I need to load 44 Mag is here.

Bought some 100 packs of Starline brass at Cabela's.

Today I got everything readily available. I just need to set up the dies.

Then I plopped down my loading blocks and popped a case in each hole. To my surprise I got an extra case! Now do they weigh each bag instead of counting and that means I have some thin cases? Time will tell lol.

I put the extra case aside and started priming my brass. I get down to the last one and there is a primer missing. Now I know I had 100 because I looked at the package tray and everyone was facing up. So I grab a flashlight and get lucky and within minute I find the lost primer.

I'm buying a Lotto ticket tomorrow.

Tomorrow I'm going to smoke some ribs and load some 240gr 18br coated bullets over a ladder test of #9. I'll probably look at the reloading spread and stay in the bottom 2/3s of the load range.

And then finally, I'm hoping I get the call to pick up my gun early to mid week so I can hit the range Thursday or Friday.

It was a good day. I did forget to mention that the seating stem on the Lee dies I ordered looked like they were cut with a hatchet.

I sent an email out to Lee. We will see if they will send out a replacement without requiring me to send the original in first. I'm not losing any reloading time because of their poor quality control. If they want the stem back first I'm going to order some RCBS dies and return these to Cabela's.

This is the first time I've had such a poor reloading product from Lee.

Still buying that Lotto ticket.

Ladder test loads are loaded up. 18.1 to 19.9.

This will put me .3 below the max load on Accurate's load data. But well under Lee's Modern Reloading 1st Edition's Max load of 21.7. I don't see myself needing much more than what 19.9 provides me.

Even had my 8 year old son pulling the handle for me. We were quadruple checking to make sure each case had powder.

Ordered some .44 special brass and an extra RCBS shell holder. One for the hand primer and one for the press.

Starline always makes sure you get an extra case or two simply because things happen in shipping.
