Ordered a 629 and need to start gathering reloading gear for it.

I am flush with #2 and need to start shooting it to consume it.

Accurate's 44 Special does list quite a bit of loads with #2. I was planning on buying some 240gr powder coated cast.

The charge is small, from 4.2-4.7gr. how does this fill the case?

I don't have any brass yet so I have been able to double drop some powder to see how it fills/overfills the case. Is it easy to double charge?

Is the small charge position sensitive?

It seems like Dillon's Square Deal B doesn't list 44 Mag dies, just 44 Special. Does anyone know if their Special does will size the longer Mag brass?

If you are using .44 Magnum brass, then use .44 Magnum load data. .44 Special load data in a ..4 Magnum case is not valid, since the OAL is different.

You can make light .44 Magnum loads, of course, and I suspect that your AA#2 might work for that.

As for filling the case … yeah, not gonna happen with a fast powder like that.

I have not found any 44 Mag & #2 data. I am sure I could work up a load. But it would be quicker and easier to load #2 in Special brass.
