Planning to create a new reloading bench this coming Spring to mount up a couple new presses. Planning to supplement my existing Hornady LnL AP with a Dillon XL750 and also pick up a Ponsness Warren progressive shotshell reloader.
One of my main criteria is to have quick change capability on the presses so that in the future I can swap out as needed. On my existing bench I have the presses bolted down directly to the benchtop via holes I drilled all the way through the butcher block. So the drill patterns are specific to the Forster Co-Ax and Hornady LnL AP that I have mounted to the bench. Looking for more versatility on this next bench design.
I've been casting about the interwebs and found this interesting design:
https://www.range365.com/story/guns-101/build-the-ultimate-reloading-bench/It's basically a butcher block countertop (variable length x 25" deep x 1.75" tall) mounted on top of a 2x4 stud attached to the garage wall on one side and resting on 3-4 steel pipe standards on the other. Seems pretty straightforward to use floor flanges to attach the threaded pipe standards to both the bottom of the butcher block and the garage floor. I'll secure the flanges on the garage floor using Tapcon concrete screws.
Will router channels for universal t-tracks into the butcher block top and then secure Inline Fabrication quick change ultra-mounts to the track system.
Thought I'd post this up in case anyone finds it interesting. Seems to provide a solid reloading bench design without the need for much in the way of carpentry skills.
