Distance is going to be 25 yards...

Thanks Dan. Perhaps you might consider updating the rules in post #1 to reflect the distance. Just a suggestion.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we HAVE A LOCATION! A big thanks to the staff at Champion Arms for hosting this event!

The shoot will be hosted at Champion Arms, in Kent WA, on Sunday April 1st 2012 from 10am-3pm. This will give shooters a large time frame in which to show up, shoot the target and check out Champions great facility. The winner will be known at 3pm that day and will be announced online shortly after.

Also, don't forget about some other ways the USO Shoot can benefit you.

I've got my dad's old Regent .22 revolver that he bought in college in the '60's. It's almost painful to shoot and shoots way left and high, but I'm thinking my odds are probably just as good, if not better, than with a good gun!

:timeout: Hmmmmmmm......there is something that possibly smells a little fishy about the date here, and I am pretty sure its not my upper lip. icon_eek :ROFLMAO:

Nice! You can compete with style, anyhow!

But in all seriousness . . . if you want to borrow my pistol (or any number of others, I'm sure), then you are absolutely welcome to. This is intended to be a fun shoot to benefit charity, not a competition to see who can buy the most expensive .22 pistol.

(Though it does provide an excellent excuse to buy, for those of us who were looking for one....)

Only five weeks (approx.) left and less than 10% of the registration goal reached . . . . icon_eek

Would it help raise funds for the USO if a 22LR RIFLE class was added?

Same rules as for the pistol shooters except:
- Playing cards target is reduced 4x on a color copier (still shot at 25 yards - gives the effect of the pistol size target at 100 yards).
- Any optics up to 4x magnification can be used (variable magnification scopes would need to be taped in the 4x position during the shoot).
- Sling may be used (no bipods or other support).
- Prize for Rifle Class winner would be something other than the rifle the pistol shooters compete for (e.g., a $xx gift certificate at a sponsoring gun shop).

I'm a newbie here and don't want to step on any toes or rock any boats, but I also want to contribute where I can, even if it's only an idea from time to time.

Doc, decent idea, but a little late in the game to deploy I think. I can also tell you that with my .22 rifle and a 3x scope I can plink quarters at 25 yards. A .22 rifle shoot would be a great outdoors event and maybe one to look at for the next competition (yes, there will be more).
