He mentions 100yds min for .308 variety rounds. 9mm should be easy, .223 FMJ you'd be fine at 50yds on a chain/non-solid mount.

Was at the Greenwater yesterday shooting a few .223 FMJ and 7.62x39 FMJ at 3/8" AR500 on a solid mount at 30yds. It definitely made some small gouches, but nothing devastating. That being said, I won't be shooting rifle rounds at my plates inside 50yds anymore, pure longevity sake.

Hmmm, perhaps I should invest in a popper then. Hard to hang a plate where I go.

The main issue with distance isn't as much plate longevity as it is safety. At 50 yards, a .223 can come back to you pretty fast. Jacketing etc has been known to bounce back and cause more than a few cuts.

A .308 isn't going to matter, velocity and ft/lbs wise at 50 yards compared to 100 yards, there isn't that much loss of speed.

DONE!

I had 3 pounds left over, so I ordered myself a 2.5-pound triangle. What the hell. :thumbsup2:

I now have two separate orders, one at 70 pounds even and one at 69.5. It doesn't get much better than that! :rockout:

Please consider this group order *CLOSED*. Thank you, guys!

A Oster, I was shooting a 7.62x39 yesterday at 50 yards and proably shot one of my 40% IPSC targets 500 times between the 5 of us shooting.

I saw lots of little dimples, but nothing to be worried about. For the most part it just knocked the paint off. I would say, the .223 would likely cause the most damage at 50 yards. Just because its going so fast and its such a small bullet. 9mm and pretty much any handgun will be fine for a lifetime of use.

BUT, like what was mentioned earlier, safety is our first priority. SO stay safe,

Thanks for your interest in our products.

Hey guys, I do have the targets; they arrived last Saturday. Sorry I haven't been in touch with all of you, but I just moved and I still haven't gotten my "real" computer up and running that has the spreadsheet on it with who ordered what and the final tally.

So anyhow, I do have the targets . . . if you want them now, let me know. Otherwise give me a few more days to get the computer going, and I'll put a coat of white paint on the targets too. They come unfinished, with a wee bit of surface rust, so I'll brush that off and paint 'em up a bit to make them a bit more pretty.
