Group buy here: viewtopic.php?f=65&t=39849

Hey guys,

We also have the opportunity to do an AR500 armor http://www.ar500armor.com/ group buy. I have been in touch with my contact there and he would like a rough number of plates that would be ordered so he can figure out what kind of discount we are looking at.

So...are you interested? You can choose up to three options in case you want front, rear and sides.

UPDATE:

Looks like we have a final count of 42 plates total. Now I need to know exactly what everyone needs.

Front Plates: Curved or flat. Normal coating or heavy coating. Size.

Rear Plates: Curved or flat. Normal coating or heavy coating. Size.

Side Plates: Curved or flat. Normal coating or heavy coating.

Once I know exactly what everyone wants I can turn in the final count and find out the discount. Please let me know what you guys want regardless of the price. Considering I don't know what the discount will be yet, just reply with what you would like so we can get the specifics. Once I find out the discount you can be IN or OUT. This is not a commitment from you at this point. I just need to know the details.

I emailed them last night and asked about pulling the molle gear off an operator 2 vest for a discount.

Their response: At this time we do not have that option. We can give you credit for upgrades to that order however. Besides that you may be better off ordering ala carte.

****Numbers below are my estimates based on their website. Not to be quoted as actual pricing!*****

By piece
Op2 Plate Carrier: $79
Curved Front Plate with extra coating: $110
Curved Back Plate normal coating: $85
(+ 6x8 curved side plates normal coating: $25 each base +$25 for curved pair = $75)
-------------------------
Sub-Total: $274 ($349)
-10% group deal
Total: $246.60 ($314.10)

Op2 set
Matches above but -$25 to remove extra spall coating for back plate
( includes adding side plates like above pricing)
But then factor in a credit for the loss of molle gear....-$15 for mag pouches, - $10 for pistol pouches, - $?? (not listed on site) Lets call it ...- $15 = - $40
------------------------
Sub-Total: $265 ($340)
- 10% group deal
Total: $238.50 ($306)

I voted yes, but I'm still unsure. I'd love to have a set, but not exactly sure if I need it.

Depends on timing. I'm already committed to Greg for a SBR and suppressor.

This would come AFTER the Killer Innovations group buy is completely finished and likely AFTER the possible HIPERFIRE group buy. I'll be getting a plate from them for T&E and will be posting the review here. This poll is just for initial gauging of interest and numbers to see if the group buy would be feasible.

I'm curious....are we talking about just naked plates, or coated plates or plates and a carrier?

This is a count for plates...period. Coated, non coated, curved or flat. I just need a general count on the plates to give to my contact so he can begin working on something. I know a guy or two has contacted them already and heard about a 10% discount...I'm going to try and do a bit better but can't promise anything.

I'd be interested in details when they become available.
Sorry. Tapatalk. If there is an actual poll I will vote next time I am on the computer.

Once I have a rough count in, I can relay it to my guy there. Be sure to vote in the poll even if you aren't sure. These plates don't break the bank as it is so it's not a huge financial commitment.

TA - count mine as 3 sets total.

One for daily wear, one for formal wear and one as an extra.....Kidding!

I have 2 others who are interested. So total current count of 3
