Seems too good to be true or too cheap to be quality. If they really needed to raise funds then why aren't they $50? That would still be cheaper than any other aluminum lower out there. Just seems fishy.

Edit: you would be making a pledge and getting your lower who knows when if ever. The lowers don't actually exist yet. It's an investment in his getting started. Investments are risky.

A link would be helpful but I already surmised that it's really just a guy trying to get folks to invest in him getting equipment in the hopes that one day to get a lower in return.

Here is another idea...

Located in Monroe and they let you finish your lower at their facility... Maybe we can interest them and n hoasting a group buy/build party?

All the others say they use 7075 aluminum which is stronger than 6061. 6061 also costs half the price for the raw material so I'm not sure why they're so expensive.

7075 is more susceptible to corrosion

According to the link I posted the reason they switched to 7075 is because the 6061 was susceptible to corrosion.

Yeah, sorry. Didn't read it until now. I have no idea what forging does to the properties. That could very well be.
*i guess the question is, would we ever see a difference? Probably not unless you are using graphite or some marine grease with additives that attack aluminum...or Tommy did some torture testing :rofl9:

If you hard anodized the lower you won't see any difference even if you did use graphite
or additives that don't go well with raw aluminum.
I have been using the dryphite spray on graphite in a dedicated 22 upper
for well over eight or nine year and still no corrosion

That a little too high in price as you can get two lowers at that price here http://shop.lower80.com/80-AR-15-Lower-Receiver-00001.htm
Yes 6061 is weaker and cost less but after you hard surface anodize it becomes stronger.
I have a couple 6061 lowers I made almost twenty years ago that are still working good and both have
been through many thousand rounds.
Another good video to get an Idea of what you will need http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYUfcxnDSWg

Last few question for me (i think). From all my interweb readings, basically i'm finding nobody will anodize a receiver with no numbers. Is this true?
Also I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around paying so much extra for the no numbers. I need to make a decision by next week.

$215 out the door. Cheapest duracoat $40....starting to sound wayyyy to expensive for what it is.

Better deals for more lowers, too. 16 for $425.. etc.
