Recovering is perhaps not the most accurate word here, as she lost a leg. Luckily for her, a cabbie gave her a tourniquet (the leg was gone and she was losing blood fast), despite basically the whole crowd yelling at him not to. Supposedly the guy hit her going ~50mpg and then bounced off one car and into another, which happened to be a cop car.
I know this is an old post, but I just wanted to add what I knew. Thx for sharing this, btw.
