We are raising funds to improve recreational shooting on public land!

Every week we see postings about more trashed shooting sites. It's a very real situation and needs to be corrected. We now have an organization to help change that, preserve recreational shooting and combat the stigma of people with guns in the woods.

I joined you in this effort in the Spring of 2014 and I believe we've done a lot of good in raising awareness about our concerns, the rules, ethics, shooting etiquette and stewardship. In Jan 2017 I felt it best to have a non-profit organization in place to help us in our collaborative efforts. It's because a lot of you have a desire to see it change for the better and I'm willing to donate my time to help. I feel we have made a difference but gun sales are up, ranges are full and more new shooters on public lands.

We need to step up our efforts (again). More education and awareness. More boots on the ground. More cooperative efforts. More 'Random Acts of Cleanups'. And more dollars to get it done. With your help, we are going to make more of a difference!

Stay tuned for more details about the event, coming soon! Hope you can make it Feb 18th!

Bill

Reasons to support Recreational Shooting and Trash No Land.

THE CURRENT STATE OF RECREATIONAL SHOOTING ON PUBLIC LANDS:

• Trash accumulation at dispersed shooting sites on public lands. (Lack of stewardship & dumping).

• Shooters unaware of rules and shooting unlawfully. (Unsafe conditions & violations of law).

• Targets being placed on trees, stumps and downed logs. (Fire hazards & natural resource damage).

• Household refuse and appliances being used as targets. (Poor choice of targets & environmental concerns).

• Shooting in unsafe locations and directions. (Public safety issues).

PROPOSED BY TRASH NO LAND AND OUR SUPPORTERS:

• Cleanups. Official and unofficial. Promote continuous encouragement for ongoing stewardship efforts.

• Education. Promote knowledge of rules via publications, social media, word of mouth, classes & events.

• Awareness. Inform of issues, conditions, consequences and improvements.

• Liaison. Communication with forest officials, on behalf of the recreational shooting community, to address and improve conditions.

• Improvements. Advocate for the development of desirable dispersed shooting lanes incorporating fire prevention, public and personal safety, meets rules requirements and ease of cleaning while being environmentally responsible.

• Maintenance. Routine repair and upkeep of improved shooting sites and signage.

TRASH NO LAND’S VISION FOR RECREATIONAL SHOOTING:

• A cleaner forest.

• Stewardship and ownership in our public lands.

• Wide spread knowledge of rules.

• Adherence to rules.

• Proper target placement.

• Proper target selection.

• Quality dispersed shooting sites.

• Assistance to forest officials.

• Improved relations with other recreational activity.

• No wild fires caused by target shooting.

Join us at our fundraising event and help us do good for our public lands!

Dang! The product donations just keep coming in! We now have over $3000 worth of products from vendors! Recent contributions include a couple of Adventure Medical Sportsmen Whitetail first aid kits from Cascade Training Center (they train Technical Rescue Training and Confined Space Rescue operations). Other donations are a bucket of bullets (1400 rnds 22 LR), a nice Kershaw hunting knife, a Kershaw pocket knife and a couple of water/dust proof carry cases.

And yet, more to come (from at least one more vendor that we know of)!

Hope some of you can make it!

We're laying down the final details! This is turning out to be a great time! Hope some of you can make it.

At this event, we're GUNna;

Meet new people and make some new friends. These will be the people who firmly believe in promoting responsible shooting on public land and who believe we can make a positive impact in recreational shooting for the good of our great outdoors and our future generations. They are the ones who don't see our problems as problems, but more like 'challenges' to find solutions and overcome the problems. They are the ones who often preach the words of responsibility, stewardship and respect. They are the Choir. Come meet the Choir!

Hear of Trash No Land's plans and events for 2018.

Hear from our Forest Officials from Mt Hood National Forest, Tillamook State Forest and Washington's Yacolt Burn State Forest.

Hear a new song you have not heard before! (Sorry, no spoiler alerts here. You'll have to be there to hear it!)

Munch on some goodies! We like our goodies! And we'll have some good ones!

Win some awesome raffle prizes. Tickets will be available in the $5 & $10 donation range (You will receive your first raffle ticket when you sign-in with a $10 donation at the door). Range Finder, GPS, Nikon Bino's, Trail Cam, Concealed Carry purse, steel targets, stands and more!

Bid on three silent auction items. A Ruger 10/22 TakeDown Lite, A Leupold Scope and a pair of Leupold Binoculars. You'll be able to see the last bid and add to it as you would like.

And when the event is all said and done, the facility's indoor pistol range will be open to the public for those who would like some range time. While the range is not part of our event, we felt it would be great to have our event at this facility for those who wish to recreate before or after.

Sunday Feb 18th! 1 - 5 PM. Come join the fun and good times!

Full details here: http://trashnoland.org/2-18-18anniversary.html

See you there!

If I was even close, I would be there in a heartbeat. You guys are awesome. Are there plans to branch Seattle north? May not get people from way south like Renton, but you would get a pretty huge draw.
