I was up there today. The upper pit has some pretty good trash built up now, i didn't stop and look at the clearcut but it was busy.
The most disturbing part was the spot on the left just before the pit. They had put concrete barriers there, but there is an opening on the end and two vehicles were in there with people shooting.

No backstop, elevated target boards and rounds heading towards Greenwater proper. :facepalm2:

WTF are people thinking?? No backstop and no concern for where those rounds are going. Some lady with a baby on her hip and some yay hoo's just blasting away.

It was marked no shooting before though i saw no signs when my son and i passed by. Just some Graffiti on the barriers and some ignorant people with no concern for anyone else. :blackcloud1:

That area has been a thorn for quite some time. I'm going to suggest the forest service plant thick brush in that area or better yet move all the stumps that are at the forest clearing up there.

:bump2: Only a week and two days left. Anyone else showing up ? We need some strong support for this area, 7013(forest clearing) especially. It's still being considered for closure due to pressure from the locals so lets have a strong turnout to show we care about our recreation and that we are responsible recreational shooters willing to donate our time to clean up after those who are not.

Very nice, it's good to see new people join in our efforts to keep these areas open.

Trash bags will be provided by USFS, they usually bring rakes as well. Bring some gloves, (i'll provide extras in case), lots of water. The one thing we need most out there is wheel barrels if you have the room.

Thanks John! The shoot afterwards will be worth the effort. :thumbsup2:

Excellent, the faster we get it clean the faster we get to the shooting.

Sorry I wasn't able to make it today; I flew into Seattle early this morning and then had to do some things including picking up my car from the shop. :frust:

Looks like the weather was top-notch . . . how did it go?

While I could only stay for first pit clean up, it went very well.....on the Forest Service side! They had at least 20 people there, at least.
Rep from Waguns was pretty slim, think 5 an that included a girlfriend an son non members.

All in all it was a good clean; it took about 2.5hrs total but really only needed two. We were kind of getting a bit crazy with the small stuff on the ground. For it only being two months since the last clean it was pretty trashed but with the alterations that the forest service has made; it allows more people to shoot at these two areas so if there is more trash at these two areas instead of in the forest somewhere else where it won't be cleaned then i'd call it a success. The weather was nice/hot and there was a good amount of people total but only 5 wagun folks showed up not counting their +1.... 20+ from the forest service and about 6-9 people joined in who were already or about to shoot which i believe 5 will join the site and next clean.
So yeah it was pretty embarrassing being out numbered by the forest service and random volunteers. Also it didn't make recreational shooters look good when the forest service went to shut down the forest clearing when 7 different groups were shooting and only 1 actually stayed to help out...

Big thanks for those that showed up
