Is there a Facebook event on this cleanup? I haven't seen it on WaGuns FB feed. I'd like to share it on the TNL FB page. If not, may I do a story on it using the above picture or last years pics? Or, shall I wait till it's done? (I like to highlight any efforts that gun owners do to promote responsible shooting on public land, no matter if it's Washington, Oregon or Arizona. The idea is to reach all recreational shooters).

If not on the FB TNL page, I certainly will do a final report on the web site in the 'Events' page.
There is no facebook event as far as i know. Either way I say yes, do it all, promote, promote, promote. I don't believe there should be any problem with that one bit.

Should I bring any tools? Shovels, rakes, that sort of thing?

I'm bringing a big cooler full of sodas and bottles of water.

Yes, shovels and rakes can be helpful.

before we start we should have a plan of attack. Get tactical with this clean up,work it like mowing the lawn

Good thinking. Let's use a classic pincer approach, and get it from both ends. I'll hit the "shooting" flank of the day, and you attack the "cleaning." When both enemy forces are defeated, let's meet and have lunch.

Like that group did at the last cleanup. Should get Tyler(Leo) to check license/registration and proof of insurance to anyone who does that.

We are up, packed, and on the way. We just may be a little fashionably late.

Though we'll have a thing of drip coffee.

ANOTHER AWESOME DAY!!! :rockout:

We started at the "lower pit" this morning, which the Forest Service had temporarily closed. We hit that for about an hour and a half, and when it was looking good we moved down to the FS 7013 clearing. We pulled up to the clearing, and there were a lot of shooters there . . . maybe 20-30 people? With the Forest Service, we talked to all of the groups and told them there we were about to do a cleanup and would need a cold range for about an hour. We told them they were welcome to help us, or they could just stay cold while we cleaned up.

Nearly all of them pitched in and helped us. :thumbsup2: It was phenomenal . . . we hit that clearing hard, with all of the help, and we were done in maybe half an hour. thumbsup

Big thanks to:

MADrtcw
Woody
Dicks McGhee and his girlfriend
usrifle and his son
Breck (the artist formerly known as +ULFBERH+T)
san
Bob
Brian and the other four(?) Forest Service employees who were so supportive with trash bags, haul-away, and slaving away right alongside us getting everything cleaned up.
All of the shooters who pitched in at the FS 7013 clearing! That was so awesome. :mulletslayer:

Did I miss anyone?

We have a pretty steady crew that comes out for these cleanups . . . and you guys are THE BEST.

Oh . . . and yes, after two hours of cleaning we shot for about five hours.

A damn good day. Thanks to everyone!

Yes this cleanup turned out better than i expected. The forest service had the lower pit being worked on an hour before we even got there. We tired to get them to shoot with us before they left but apparently that would have been frowned upon being on the clock and all.

If i knew the clean up was going to be that quick and 5 hours of shooting afterwards i would have brought more stuff to shoot. usrifle and madpick had an arsenal out there putting me to shame. Next time i'll be prepared :AR15firing: Speaking of which maybe we can get an waguns group shoot out there before the weather turns sour on us.
