LETS GO POSTAL!!!
Here are the rules. -Decide which caliber you will be shooting. The range for each caliber is listed on the target. -You get 10 shots and ONLY 10 shots. (hit or miss, targets with more than 10 shots, even if they dont touch the black will not be accepted) -Try to remove as much of the black as you can (Like those carnival games) -Its not going to be scored based on the group, only scored on how much of the black you have successfully removed. The targets are scaled by the caliber, so only use the caliber designated on the target. If you have a different caliber you would like to use, let me know and I will scale a target to match. -Write your username and type of gun used on the target. -Send me a PM and I will give you the address to mail it to. -You are allowed one entry to the shoot. You ARE allowed to shoot several targets and submit the best one, and you can also shoot multiple calibers, but again, only one submission is allowed.
I have attached a powerpoint that has the targets made, but here are the calibers and ranges as well as the size of the targets in case you must make your own. (If you make your own they must be done on a computer and I will verify they are the correct diameter, any incorrect sizes will be returned and you will have to shoot again.) .22 pistol - 1" target at 10 yards .22 rifle - 1" target at 50 yards .223 - 1" target at 100 yards .308 - 1.4" target at 100 yards .357/9mm - 1.6" circle at 10 yards for pistol, 25 yards for rifle. .40 S&W - 1.8" target at 10 yards for pistol, 25 yards for rifle. .45 Colt or .45 ACP - 2" circle at 10 yards for pistol, 25 yards for rifle.
For ALL pistols the range is 10 yards. If you are using a rifle in a pistol caliber, then the 25 yard range still applies.
ALL submissions must include: The target that you shot A target that you didnt shoot. (I am going to use the weight difference to determine the amount of black that you have shot out, to do this I need a shot target and an unshot target. PLEASE remember to include a shot and a virgin target.)
Targets must be recieved by Oct 31st. RECIEVED, not post-marked, but I have to have them in my hand by Oct 31st.
Now for the winner(s). The winner will recieve his/her choice of Hoodie, Hat, Beanie, T-Shirt, or may make a request for additional items depending on cost, WITH your username on it. The second place winner will recieve choice of a Hat or Beanie. Subject to availability Third place winner will recieve a bumper sticker, Subject to availability.
So go out and shoot and get postal.

Are there rules regarding sights? Or are there divisions for iron sights and optics?

I figured that with so many categories, any advantage given by an optic on one firearm, will be washed out by the advantages given by another choice. You may get an advantage using an uber powerful optic on a .308, but a .45 has a larger bullet, so a few well placed shots with a .45 will negate the benefit of scoping up a rifle. So in short, nope, everyone shoots what they like, have, borrow, or are good at.
