The current 3-Strikes law should be revised so that anyone (Judge or Governor) that puts a "3 Striker" back on the street is held personally liable for any victim's damages when he commit's his 4th violent felony.

Also, there should be a "punch card" system developed for less violent felonies and gross misdemeanors. Each offense is "scored" and when someone is convicted that "score" is "punched out of their "Card". When the card reaches Zero, off they go FOREVER.

There are way too many people on the streets that have zero regard for society's laws yet they always seem to stay just under the threshold for getting a "Strike". You only get those when you commit certain violent felonies, not when you steal two dozen cars over a year or two, having served several 30 day terms in a County Jail, etc. Ditto for drug offenses. A conviction for "Distribution" is not a 'Strike' so you can just pick up where you left off after 10-12 convictions.

^^What he said^^

The usual kind of muddled thinking was on display today on KOMO news (et al). The guy Borat (Edeek) Goga who threatened to shoot up a church and hoped "they would all burn in their church" was released on $100,000 bond.

Meanwhile a guy who was sexing up the old lady (drunk, with the kid in the back seat) and crashed the car, was released on $500,000 bond. hmmmm

so, you get stupid drunk imperil two other peoples' lives and you are held for half a million.... threaten the lives of a few score of people and $100k will do.

How about the two yuts who were slashing folks with a Machete in New York? $200 bail and home in time for dinner...

What is a yut?

Quote:
The cab driver, Richard Deleon, raised his hands to defend the passengers when the machete sliced off his thumb, police said.

Unbelievable...
Impressive. Those fine young men deserve a job sharpening knives. Unless you pinch that thumb against something hard and heavy none of my machetes would slice a thumb off.

Sharpening knives inside a sealed shut room with small openings for dull knives in, sharp knives out until death do us part.

In Joisey, and Nyawk, a yut is a misguided person under the age of 21 usually.

We call them punks or jail bait out here.

He said "paused" not "pawed at". Should be GTG.
