The Fallacy of ‘Nobody Wants to Take Your Guns’

When the Seattle Times cheered passage of another gun control initiative this week, and immediately called for even more legislation banning so-called “assault weapons” and large capacity magazines, it may have surrendered any chance to argue that “nobody wants to take your guns.”

Press bias ripped, voters slam election coverage

A new Rasmussen Reports survey released Thursday found that only 30 percent of U.S. voters thought this year’s coverage of the presidential campaign was good or excellent, and this comes as a Daily Beast writer ripped his own profession for its “unbearable smugness” while covering the campaign.

Next up in the arena of common-sense gun safety: a proposed ban on assault weapons and large-capacity magazines. These weapons are not needed by hunters nor people protecting their families from home invaders.

These people that presume they have a right or any qualification to tell me what chattel I need or should be allowed to have and for what purposes I should be allowed to have it can get fucked. :thumbsup2:

The Shithole Times and their editorial board are enemies to liberty.

"Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm -- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves." – T.S. Eliot

"The right of self defence is the first law of nature: in most governments it has been the study of rulers to confine this right within the narrowest limits possible. Wherever standing armies are kept up, and the right of the people to keep and bear arms is, under any colour or pretext whatsoever, prohibited, liberty, if not already annihilated, is on the brink of destruction." - St. George Tucker

A careful definition of words would destroy half the agenda of the political left and scrutinizing evidence would destroy the other half. - Thomas Sowell

"To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the lawless will allow...

For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals. Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding." - Jeff Snyder

Personal weapons are what raised mankind out of the mud, and the rifle is the queen of personal weapons. The possession of a good rifle, as well as the skill to use it well, truly makes a man the monarch of all he surveys. It realizes the ancient dream of the Jovian thunderbolt, and as such it is the embodiment of personal power. For this reason it exercises a curious influence over the minds of most men, and in its best examples it constitutes an object of affection unmatched by any other inanimate object.

I hope smug pricks Vance and Bryant are ruminating about why they lost. Oh well. Time to move out of this fever swamp of communism and relocate to a red state.

I told Vance several times he needed to court gun owners instead of this middle of the road shit.
Even gave him links to WA gun sites.
Last email I got from him was kinda snippy and that he was a strong 2A supporter and that anyone who thought otherwise didn't know what they were talking about.

Well, that didn't go so well for him.

I'm giving it two years now that we have Trump, Congress, and the SCOTUS. I want to see federal pro-gun laws that prevent states from banning guns and harassing gun owners in groups. He has the people and the backing to unwind and fix CA/NY/NJ/WA/CO/MD/MA. He could make the whole USA a pro-gun nation.

This is one of the biggest and most important things I expect from his first 2 years.

Failing that, I'm going to a red state.

Congrats Motivated. Not many of us were behind the Donald from the beginning. Took some abuse from the Trump haters right here on this board. It turned out alright though. Vance and Bryant aren't even worth the second flush to get them out of my sight. Just speed bumps on the road to Trump America.

Neither of these guys are gun guys.
They avoided the subject during the campaign. Vance showed up at a Washington Arms Collectors gun show, in a shirt, tie and jacket and slacks.
Now, Brian Blake, a gun guy Democrat, showed up there too. Looked as though he might be heading for deer camp, and he was having a rather good time. Vance looked rather stiff and uncomfortable. Blake is the real deal.

Appreciate that information. Politicians who ridicule gun owners are a given, those who ignore gun owners.........well their political fate is sealed. That could be a take away from this election.
