Re: Zimmerman in custody..now what? Zimm will not be convicted of murder 2. Probably not manslaughter either. And under Florida's SYG law, he may well be granted immunity, the basis for which carries a very low bar for meeting the requirements for compliance. This is accomplished in a hearing before a judge, pre-trial, with no jury. If it's granted, it over. case dismissed.
Even if it does go to trial, how does the state prove it's case, when the only witness to everything that happened is George Zimmerman? The only other equally qualified witness that we know about is taking a dirt nap. I expect huge pressure for the prosecution to accept a plea to a lower charge. manslaughter or aggravated battery. The we will see what G.Z. is really made of. It's his choice, and I wouldn't blame him a bit if he took a deal, but it will be interesting.
