Anybody out there got some video equipment and editing talents they'd like to donate to the cause? You may want to chat with the opponents of 594, as I can't speak for them, nor do I speak for the proponents (POGR) of 591.

I will vote the correct way and will likely send some money in the near future. However even if 594 passes I will not comply.
Fuck them.

Alpine wrote: I've got an idea for an anti-594 ad:
Show a dark room with an upset woman sitting on a couch in her house.
Have her say that she was attacked a week ago by an intruder who tried to rape her. She had a firearm and used it to defend herself. The police took the firearm as part of a normal investigation but due to 594 she has to pass a background check to get it back, and it's been over a week and it's still going. Meanwhile she has lost her protection and no friends can loan her a gun either. Then have her state that her attacker bailed out of jail right away and she's afraid he is coming for her. Then show her looking to the side, have a window noise break in the background and have her scream "no, he's back!" and freeze it right there and fade out.
What do you guys think? Too over the top? Possibly. I thought of a somewhat funny (think Vern Fonk style) take on the I-594 consequences that could be made into a commercial. First scene is a father & son shooting targets out in the woods. When the father hands his shotgun over to his son to try, the camera pans out to the side to a sheriff throwing handcuffs on him. "Transferring a firearm without a background check, you're under arrest!" Repeat the same scene for a grandfather giving his grandson his old .22 rifle around the Christmas tree. As soon as the grandson opens the present and holds up his new rifle with pride, the camera pans over across the living room with the family still in pajamas, there is a cop inexplicably in the room, and he throws cuffs on grandpa. "Transferring a firearm without a background check, you're under arrest!" Then finish off with a scene - and maybe this is a stretch - two cops meet up in the parking lot just before ending their shift, one sells a firearm to the other out of the back of his patrol car. Again, pans over, and another cop (maybe from another agency) throws cuffs on one of the cops. "Transferring a firearm without a background check, you're under arrest!" Maybe close the commercial with all three parties lined up at a counter at a gun store, waiting to conduct their background check. Have a crusty-looking gun store guy proclaim "that'll be $200 dollars each, and a ten day wait - that is if the state gets back to us by then."

Those are pretty good too.

They're going to push for additional gun control, but then not enforce it? http://p.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/mar/28/chicago-l-and-nyc-push-hard-gun-control-rank-last-/Quote: A new report states that districts containing Chicago, Los Angeles and New York City ranked last in enforcing federal gun laws in 2012. The report, from Syracuse University’s Transactional Records Access Clearinghouse, shows that the districts of Eastern New York, Central California and Northern Illinois ranked 88th, 89th and 90th, respectively, out of 90, in prosecutions of federal weapons crimes per capita.

From that assholes own website. I spent time to look up the FACTS. The FACTS are in REDQuote: Since the December 2012 shooting in Newtown, CT, there have been at least 62 school shootings in America. How many more before our leaders pass common-sense laws to prevent gun violence and save lives? Communities all over the country live in fear of gun violence. That’s unacceptable. We should feel secure in sending our children to school — comforted by the knowledge that they’re safe.

I'm willing to bet on 3/8/14 the shooting was either a lost bet with a drunken fellow student or something similar. Lots of alcohol in that city... I still feel safe there

So Bloomberg's new picture that his anti gun group posted on their page, shows who pro gun groups are up against. Clearly some of the dumbest fucking people alive. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2014/04 ... eir-heads/

I received a letter from CCRKBA today with some pro-591/anti-594 info, including a bumper sticker. They are looking for donations, of course, but it wasn't clear to me how much of a targeted effort they'll be mounting for the 591/594 issues. I'd really like to write a check and make sure it's going to the right place. Dave, I apologize if it seems like you keep answering my question and I keep re-asking it, but I'm not getting the warm fuzzy just yet.
